It may have been a rainy and cold Saturday afternoon in December, but that did not stop the fun at Casino Pier Arcade!
On December 14th, 2013, Casino Pier held its’ first Holiday Party! We welcomed guests from all over to join the fun and get into the holiday spirit! Our Mascot, Slider, joined the fun as well, dancing with children and wearing his ugliest sweater!
The festivities started at 12:00 PM with the check in of our Ugly Sweater Contest! Guests wore the ugliest sweater they could find to try to win the prize! We had to award some of the kids with the cutest sweater too, since it just brought a smile to our faces!
Arts & Crafts was a hit with decorating Gingerbread cookies, creating reindeer and snowmen crafts. A heart touching craft was for the kids to create a Holiday card to mail to soldiers serving in the United States and abroad. Many soldiers will not be home for the holidays, so we know they will love getting Holiday cards from around the world.
Following arts & crafts was Pin the Nose on Rudolph! Kids spun around blindfolded, then tried placing Rudolph’s big red nose on the right spot! Many kids spun to many times and got dizzy, but some got it smack on!
Next was our Build a Snowman Contest! Similar to the mummy wrap, during Halloween. Teams were to wrap up one individual with toilet paper. All the toilet paper had to be finished and then buttons were pinned on and hats and gloves! The first 3 to finish first won prizes! They turned out to be the cutest snowmen we ever saw!
After unwrapping of the snowmen, we had a very special guest join the festivities! SANTA came to say hi to all the children! The kids lined up and say on Santa’s lap, telling him what they would like for Christmas. Some even shared their Gingerbread cookies and cards they made with Santa!
The fun did not stop there. Next was Candy Cane Limbo and Santa was the judge! The music played and the children got lower and lower to fit under the limbo! What a fun game!
The day was full of fun and we wanted to end it with everyone gathering on the Carousel for one last ride for the day. Santa, his elves, Slider and all the guests gathered on the Carousel and rode their favorite horse or carriage for a spin!
