Denise Whalen Crab Race

August 29 @ 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

On Saturday August 29th at 4:00pm, artificial plastic crabs will be released from Patriot’s Plunge into the Revolutionary River at Breakwater Beach in a race to benefit Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in honor of Denise Whalen.
Denise Whalen was a former Manager at Breakwater Beach who we lost to the battle of cancer. She put her heart into the events and birthday parties at the park.  She is terribly missed and we are now honoring her in our annual Crab Race.  We all know someone who has been impacted by cancer - this is the time to donate in their honor!
You can purchase your “crab” for only $5. You can purchase your crabs at the admission windows at the Waterpark Entrance.
This year we will be offering the option to purchase online for $5.50 per crab.

Purchase your crab online NOW

Winning crab gets $100 and a 10 All-Day Passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2021 season. LOTS of other prizes will be awarded too.
All proceeds from the event go directly to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in hopes of finding a cure for Cancer.
It is a day of a fun and a chance to win prizes!
Crabs can be bought with CASH or CREDIT CARD. If you purchase with a credit card, it will be an additional $.50 convenience charge.
We will stop selling crabs at 12 Noon on the day of the Crab race.

The Race will be Live Streamed on our Facebook Page for those who cannot attend in person!

Don’t forget, You do NOT need to be present at the event to win a prize! – you can still make the donation for the crab entry!
