Sloan Kettering Crab Race

August 24 @ 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm

CRABS ARE SOLD OUT!

Saturday, August 24th at 5pm at the waterpark, we will be hosting our Annual Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Crab Race in memory of Denise Whalen Carey ❤

Artificial plastic crabs are released from Patriot’s Plunge into the Revolutionary River at Breakwater Beach in a race to benefit Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Denise Whalen Carey was a former Manager at Breakwater Beach who lost her battle of cancer. She put her heart into the events and birthday parties at the park. She is terribly missed and we are now honoring her in our annual Crab Race.

You can purchase your “crab” for only $5 starting August 1st. You can purchase your crabs at the admission windows at the Waterpark Entrance or purchase online for $5.50 per crab.

The winning crab gets $100 and a 10 all-day passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2025 season. Many more AWESOME prizes including restaurant gift cards, amusement park tickets and more will be awarded too to the first 100 crabs who win the race.

Proceeds from the event go directly to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in hopes of finding a cure for Cancer.

You do not need to be present at the event to win a prize; you can still make the donation for the crab entry.

Please note: your donation does not include admission to the park
