Artificial plastic crabs are released from Patriot’s Plunge into the Revolutionary River at Breakwater Beach in a race to benefit Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The race honors Denise Whalen.
Denise Whalen was a former Manager at Breakwater Beach who lost her battle of cancer. She put her heart into the events and birthday parties at the park. She is terribly missed and we are now honoring her in our annual Crab Race.
You can purchase your “crab” for only $5 starting August 1st. You can purchase your crabs at the admission windows at the Waterpark Entrance.
You may purchase online for $5.50 per crab. The winning crab gets $100 and a 10 all-day passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2024 season. A lot of other prizes will be awarded too to the first 100 crabs who win the race.
Online orders are complete.
All proceeds from the event go directly to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in hopes of finding a cure for Cancer.
You do not need to be present at the event to win a prize; you can still make the donation for the crab entry.
Please note: your donation does not include admission to the park
